Services
The
Daily Bruin creative department can do it all. From logo design, effective
copy, clean and professional art to complete ad campaigns; creative services are
easily accessible and complimentary. If you would like to benefit from these services,
please inquire with your account executive. The Daily Bruin production
department provides basic ad typesetting, layout, and design at no extra charge.
In cases where advertisements require excessive camera work, the client may be
charged additional production charges. Proofs will be furnished upon request.
Please allow four working days for receipt of your proofs.
Mechanics
& Camera Charges
- The
Daily Bruin is an extended tabloid
- Column
width is 2 inches (11.5 picas)
- Column
height is 16 inches. Allow 1/2 inch for folio
- Full
Page: 5 cols. x 16", equivalent to 80 column inches
3/4 page: 60 column inches 1/2 page: 40 column inches 1/4 page: 20 column
inches
- All
advertisements 14 inches or more in height will be charged for the full
16-inch height
- The
minimum size for display ads is 4 column inches, and for classifieds is
1 column inch
- The
Daily Bruin is printed by the offset process
- For
screens and halftones, a 100-line screen is preferred
- Reproduction
proofs must be unmounted
- Any
extra cost incurred in the reproduction of advertising materials will be
charged to the client
- Each
color costs $150
- The
Daily Bruin will incur the cost of the first two scans in an ad. The client
is charged $4 for each additional scan.
- Camera
Ready ads that require additional camera shots (e.g., size change) will
be charged $8
