Jiae Kim, Senior Designer / Environmental Media and Information Designer
Jiae Kim studied art history and
history at New York University, and earned her masters degree in interactive
art and design at Tisch School of the Arts' Interactive Telecommunications
Program. At Tisch, she created sculptures that react to human presence and
played with the affordances of technology to amplify sensory experience.
Prior to joining Pentagram, she ran her own design firm with partner John Lee, working on projects ranging from branding, magazine and website design for client including GAP, Esprit and Res Media Group/Palm Pictures. She is currently a senior designer at Pentagram, specializing in designing environmental media installations and information systems. Her project experience at Pentagram includes the design of dynamic information displays for Bloomberg L.P. corporate headquarters, the New York Times Building, the New York Botanical Garden, Port Authority’s new Downtown Terminal, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
Jiae continues to create reactive
sculptures. Recently she was invited to create and exhibit a sculpture, 40
Acres, for La ExpreseArte exhibition in
Mexico City.
